In Mark 10:46-52, we find a blind man by the name of Bartimaeus crying out to the Lord saying “thou son of David have mercy on me”, Jesus say’s “what wilt thou that I should do unto thee”? Bartimaeus replies, “Lord that I might receive my sight”.
One of the most important request that we could ever make to God, would be that He would allow us to see, and I am not talking about physical sight, as much as I am our spiritual sight. As Christians we need to ask the Lord, to open thou our eyes that we may behold the wondrous things out of His law (Psalm 119:18). Having our spiritual eyes open will cause us to see ourselves, our friends, our co-workers, our church family, even our enemy so differently, because we would be able to see them from Gods perspective. You may ask why is Gods perspective so important; simply because if I am a Christian it’s only Gods perspective that matters. In attempting to look at people through our own lenses, the sight will be tainted, corrupted and a blur on our best days.
Finally, we need His sight so we can get to heaven, and the greatest need in getting into heaven is the need to love while we are on earth. We need Gods sight to see how He loves us and others around us; so go ahead ask the Lord to (let you see). Just pray Lord let me see-let me see from your perspective, you might be amazed where He takes you.
God Bless You.
