Glorify God in Your Body and Spirit

(1 Cor. 6:20) says “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods”.

As a Christian we know that Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross for us to be saved. In fact, God brought it, Jesus bought it, and the Holy Spirit taught it. Therefore, because the Lord paid the price for our sins, the thing we are expected to do as Christians is to glorify God in our body and in our spirit. Thus, as a Christian I must glorify Him with every member of my body. I should glorify Him in my eyes in what I see, a Christian has no business watching X Rated, and even some R-Rated movies should be questionable; I should glorify Him with my ears in what I hear, a Christian has no business listening to idle gossip, dirty jokes, or co-workers on the job who sit around and talk nasty about their supervisor; I should glorify Him with my mouth in how I speak, a Christian certainly shouldn’t be telling dirty Jokes, lies, or doing a whole lot of complaining or speaking things that don’t edify; I should glorify Him with my feet in where I go, a Christian has no business in the night club, strip club or the liquor house unless God has specifically told you to go there to minister a word to someone; I should glorify God with my hands in what I touch, to my brother’s out there, if it isn’t your wife keep your hands to yourself, conversely, sister’s if it isn’t your husband you do the same. Leave those ink pins and trinkets at work unless your supervisor has approved of you taking them home. To glorify God with your body is an outward manifestation of an inward spiritual change. Because (Rom 6:11-12) says “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in the lust thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members (body parts) as instruments of righteousness unto God. Additionally, by doing the things mentioned above you actually begin to glorify God in your spirit as well because you can’t make a real change outwardly until you have made a change in your spirit, through the word of God and prayer.

                        God Bless You!
