Let This Mind Be In You-Part 1

We can learn a lot about the mindset of Jesus during his life on earth from (Phil 2:5-11).  If we are to have the mind of Christ, which we have to obtain if heaven is to be ours, we must understand a few concepts.  The Apostle Paul shares with us vital steps in order to have this mind of Christ.  The first step I would like to share today is He made himself of no reputation: Though he was with the Father from the beginning, though he was God incarnate; Jesus hid his heavenly fame in an earthly frame and submitted his whole life to the will of the Father.  Jesus didn’t spend a whole lot of time talking about himself and what he wanted; he spent his time talking about what the Father wanted.  In the Gospel we constantly read where Jesus said “He didn’t come to do his will, but the will of the Father that sent Him”.  What we learn is in order to make yourself of no reputation, the ministry can’t be about you, but it must be about the one that sent you.  To all the believers’ out there, it was Jesus Christ sacrifice which saved you and it was He which called you and said “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature”.  Therefore, you too must make yourself of no reputation and operate in the ministry which is above you; which is the ministry of Jesus Christ by the leading of the Holy Spirit.  If you are saved, your life, your ministry can no longer be about you.  You must let go of the life you have known and allow the Holy Spirit to re-shape your life, even your thought process.  Finally, to make yourself of no reputation means you must decrease so the Holy Spirit has the opportunity to increase in your life.  Because as long as you are in charge of your life there can never be increase, and as Christians we need increase.

                        God Bless You.
