The final characteristic which is identified in (Phil 2:8) as it pertains to the mind of Christ is: He was totally obedient. Jesus was obedient all the way to the cross or until the day He died. And if we are to hear the Lord say “well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord”, we too must be obedient until death or until the rapture, which ever comes first. You see we won’t get to heaven for any less than what Jesus did. If obedience is the price, then we must pay the price as well. Also, we must realize that obedience is the main currency in heaven; in other words, it causes God to move on your behalf. Obedience in God’s eyes must be total; there is no such thing as partial obedience; it’s either all or nothing, and that’s the thing I like about God, He leaves no grey area. In fact, (James 2:10) says whosoever keeps the whole law yet offends in one point, is guilty of all the law”. We have to obey the whole word of God, and it is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. Obedience is so important to God that (Samuel 15:22) says “Behold to obey is better than sacrifice and to hearken than the fat of rams”. Thus, God would rather have you come to Him in obedience, than to bring your best offering in disobedience. Because an offering made to God in disobedience is unacceptable anyway. Therefore, obey God, because it is the only way you will be proven to be worthy of heaven.
God Bless You.
