There will be times in your life when God will require you to leave some folks behind. In fact, if we are to follow the Lord and maximize our potential in Christ Jesus, the Lord will require us to separate ourselves from anybody that would hinder what God wants to do in our lives or where he wants to take us. Furthermore, God could even ask you to leave family-friends and your place of comfort behind to lead you into new territory. Many times he has to do that because families (especially those who are not serious about God) have a propensity to hinder our walk with the Lord. It’s not that we don’t love them; however, we can’t allow family-sinful friends or even the friends we grew up with to hinder our spiritual growth. The Father was so serious about this that he told Abraham in (Gen. 12:1) “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land I will show thee:” Thus, if God was going to bless Abraham and his seed, and cause him to be the father of faith, he was going to have to move him from the place of familiarity to a place where his builder and maker was God; (hence a place of dependence on Him). Finally, at the end of the day there is nothing wrong with having to say “bye-bye” to those who hinder your walk with Christ, because it is the God thing to do; and after all heaven is our goal.
God Bless You.
