Somebody Is Always Watching

If Christians believed that God was always watching them, don’t you think they would be more mindful about the things they say and do when they are alone?  Even in our most personal and intimate moments, God is watching.  God said to the prophet Ezekiel “Son of man have thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of his imagery? For they say the Lord seeth us not; the Lord has forsaken the earth”.  Somehow the Israelites believed that their secret sins, their secret abominations, their secret idolatrous worship went unnoticed by God. However, nothing get’s past the eyes of God, because his eyes go to and fro throughout the whole earth.  And for those who believe they can say and do all the right things on Sunday morning, but can live a secret life of sin and deception at other times, there will be hell to pay if you don’t change. Hence, it’s not the big foxes that will get believers in trouble; it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine (little sins). Furthermore, it’s not what you do in the light, when everybody is looking that defines your Christianity, it’s what you do when nobody is looking, and it’s just you and the almighty that defines your Christianity and character. Who are you when nobody else is looking? Michael Jackson said it best in a song he recorded years ago, when he said “I always feel like somebody is watching me”; that is the truth, there is someone watching us all the time, recording our deeds and words, for such a time as judgment day. Ref. (Eze. 8:12)
