The Love Of Money

We understand that if we are to live in America we must earn some money.  In fact, the majority of Americans report to a job everyday with the hope of earning a few dollars in order to maintain.  However, money itself has never been a problem in America or anywhere else, it’s the love of money which has messed many of us up.  The love of money will make you do things which you normally wouldn’t do; it will make you take risks which you normally would not.  The love of money will make you steal from your own mother; the love of money will make you rob your own brother.  In fact, the love of money will cause preachers to stand in a pulpit and tell lie after lie; twist and turn the word of God to their favor, just to fill the house of God so they can gain a name, fame and a pocket full of change. Examine what the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, he said “For the love of money is the root of all evil: while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1Tim 6:10).”  Hence, some who started out in the faith, some who started out with God have left the faith chasing a dollar bill and it has brought nothing but sorrow to their lives.  Child of God, it’s amazing that such a small piece of paper carries so much power.  It’s the love of money which brought about the downfall of major corporations as CEO’S raided employees pension funds for bigger mansions, party yachts and a couple of freaks on the side.  It’s the love of money which brought about the sub-prime mortgage crises which we find ourselves in today: and the sad part of it all is some of the people who perpetrated these crimes probably considered themselves Christians.  Child of God never let it be said that you sold your soul for a name –fame and a whole lot of change; because at the end of the day, money won’t buy you a spot in heaven and for the Christian heaven is our goal.

                                    God Bless You
