The Blessings Of Abraham-Part 1

(Gen 12:1KJV) Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

In order for God to bless the Christian the first thing we are going to have to do is obey God.  (Gen 12:1-3) talks about the blessings of Abraham and his seed.  However, before Abraham could ever get to the blessings of God in verses 2 and 3, he had to obey the  God of verse 1.  He had to move; he had to leave his country, kindred and father’s house unto a place where God would have him to go.  Thus, he had to leave the place of comfort, to a city where the builder and maker was God; and many times the hardest thing for God’s people to do is to leave the place of comfort and familiarity to the place of blessings.  Hence, we must understand that just because your family grew up in a certain church and went to that church all their lives, doesn’t mean you are to supposed to do the same thing as well; just because tradition dictated the way momma and daddy did things, doesn’t mean you are to do it the same way.  Even as Abraham (Abram was his name at this time) did we must do as well; we must follow God and move whenever and to wherever he would have us to go if the blessings of God are to be ours.  We must get up and get on the path to fulfilling our destiny in Christ Jesus and not the path someone else hopes we will take.  Child of God often family wants what’s best for us and we must always take their whishes into consideration.  However, what’s best for us may not be what God would have for us, because I’m sure as Abraham left the place of familiar his family was certainly questioning his motives and actions.  However, if you are going to receive the blessings of God for your life, you will eventually have to become sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church and to you specifically.  Don’t allow familiarity, comfort or the wishes of unsaved family member or friends to hinder your blessings.

                                    God Bless You
