The Blessings of Abraham-Part 2

In Genesis 12:2, God begins to reveal to Abraham the sevenfold blessing (or the covenant) that he and his seed would receive if he were obedient to the call of God.  The first blessing he promised Abraham was “I will make of thee a great nation.”  Thus, those who would operate in faith to God as Abraham did would actually become Abraham’s seed.  These blessings were not exclusively for the Jewish nation but to all who would believe in God.  Galations 3:7 tells us “Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.”  Thus, if you believe God you are a part of that great nation which God promised Abraham, and you have the right to receive the blessings that would come forth because of your faith and obedience to God.  In order to see that great nation continue to grow and prosper we must be willing to add to that nation by leading men and women to Christ Jesus.  God has given us the ministry of reconciliation through the power of the Holy Spirit to add to this great nation of believers.  Jesus himself was our supreme example when it came to building a great nation of believers when he says “the son of man came to seek and to save those that are lost (St. Luke 19:10).

                                    God Bless You
