The result of the Israelite’s unbelief of God led to their death in the wilderness; hence, the older generation never entered the promise land. In fact, God raised up another generation as the unbelieving generation died. Thus, (Heb 4:2) tells us “for unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Thus, they heard the word as Moses preached, but they didn’t believe or receive the word. And many people who confess to be Christians today hear the word which is being preached on Sunday morning; however, they seem to have a hard time believing the teachings. Child of God it doesn’t matter how well we sing or how good we look in our Sunday morning outfit; neither how beautiful your praise dance looks. However, the thing that matters the most is “Do you believe God?” If unbelief kept the Israelite’s out of the promise land surely it will keep us out of our promise land which happens to be heaven. Let us mix the teachings of God’s word with faith and bring forth a spiritual cake which we can present to God as a sweet smelling offering of our lives that we might be able to enter into the “Rest” of God. There is no sense in going to church Sunday after Sunday and walking in unbelief; we are simply wasting our time if we won’t believe.
God Bless You.
