(Ex 17:11) “And it came to pass when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
There was a battle going on between the children of Israel and the army of Amalek (or the Amalekite’s); and as Moses stood at the top of the hill with his hands up the children of Israel prevailed. However, as his hands began to become weary, he would lower them and the Amalekite’s would prevail. What this scripture should say to us as Christians is that there is victory in raising our hands to the Lord in praise and thanksgiving. When we raise our hands to the Lord it’s a sign of surrender; it’s a sign of praise; it’s a sign of victory. In your time of praise don’t forget to raise your hands up to him. The next time you find yourself in a difficult situation- raise your hands to the Lord. The next time the enemy shows up in your life- raise your hands to the Lord as a sign that you believe the victory is already yours. The next time the boss man gets on your nerves- raise your hands up to the Lord. When the kids seem like they are too much to handle take a pause-stop yelling-and raise your hands to the Lord. Child of God we may not understand all that raising our hands to the Lord means; however, he knows exactly what to provide for us when we put our hands up.
God Bless You
