A Holy God

(Psalm 30:4) “Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.”

What a blessing it is to serve a holy God.  What a blessing it is to have the opportunity to be holy because it is a requirement in order to serve God.  The holiness of God was so important to King David that he said “give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.”  The holiness of God is so impressive because you always know what to expect when it comes down to the character of God.  Hence, because he is holy we can expect him to always operate in truth, love, joy, and righteousness; because he is holy we can expect that he will never have mood swings, because holiness dictates that he operates above feelings from one day to the next.  Child of God because we serve a holy God we don’t have to wonder if he is going to be in a bad mood today if we try to approach him in prayer because holiness dictates that he will never be in a bad mood.  The fact is that there are certain things we can expect of God because he follows his word to the letter.  Hence, there will never be a day when he doesn’t line up with the word which he has loosed in the earth.  It’s this standard of holiness which keeps the Lord on point with his word, which in turn allows his children to have certain expectations of him. That’s why David said “give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness”; because God is not like man, he won’t be up one day and down the next.  However, a man that’s saved and operating in true holiness shouldn’t be either.  Hence, a man who considers himself to be holy cannot have a bad day, because you never know who is watching.

                                    God Bless You.
