When the body is thirsty the only fluid which can quench our thirst for real is water. There is nothing like a cold glass of water after a good workout on a hot day. Some I’m sure would beg to differ because some would rather have their Pepsi cola, Gatorade or even a cold glass of sweet tea. However, the water which comes down from heaven quenches the thirst and really gives the body what it needs. Thus, it is the real deal, and you can’t live without it. Conversely, you can’t live without Jesus Christ either. Those who are thirsty for real life can only find it in the God who gives life and life more abundantly. Those who are thirsty for the presence of God in their lives will get up early and stay up late if there is an opportunity to be in God’s presence; those who are thirsty for God will find that special time throughout their day to spend with him in prayer-study-or worship. Those who are thirsty for God have already made the decision that they will allow nothing to separate them from the love the God. Hence, they have made decisions concerning their relationship with family, friends and associates as it relates to their relationship with God. With that said, sometimes the thirst and pursuit of God can be a road which you may have to travel by yourself from time to time. King David had such a thirst for God that he said “O God thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is (Psalm 63:1 KJV).” Thus, David had decided he would let nothing stop him from quenching his spiritual thirst, but he also saw times where his thirst for God was difficult to quench. Child of God, if we really want to experience and see God in a way which we haven’t before we are going to have become thirsty for his presence.
God Bless You.
