Take Care Of Your Stuff

(Eccle. 10:18) “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.”

As Christians we must take care of the things God has given us.  Saints of God, people tell me from time to time “that they wish they had a new car or they wish they had a bigger house”; however, if you won’t keep the oil changed in the old car God has given you why would you expect him to give you a new one.  Furthermore, why would he give you a bigger house when you can’t keep the small one clean you have now?  Come on people, God expects the believer to take care of what He has given us, and as King Solomon says some of our bad house keeping comes down to being “slothful or idle.”  Another word for that is just lazy.  Some may say they don’t have the money, but how much money does it take to vacuum the carpet in your home, take out the trash or wash the dishes?  How much money does it take to wash the car which hasn’t seen real soap since you drove it off the lot 3 years ago?  Some of you may be saying  “I just don’t have the time because I’m so busy with church stuff or the job”, however, God always affords us the time to take care of those things, just not on his time…Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights in most houses of worship is considered his time.  Child of God if we don’t try to keep up the maintenance on the things God has allowed us to have, eventually those things will fail us at a time when we could most afford it.  Child of God spirituality is not only how much bible we know, or how well we can tongue talk, it also incorporates how we handle our affairs and even unbelievers pay attention to that.  Therefore, child of God let the Lord know you appreciate what he has given you by taking care of your stuff.  Taking care of what God has allowed you to have is a part of training for reigning.

                                    God Bless You.
