The Unproductive Tree

(St. Luke 3:9 KJV) “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree which bringeth forth not good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

The Lord is not going to have trees in His garden that are unproductive.  Hence, the tree which the Lord will lay the axe to the root of are those Christians who say they believe; those who say they have confessed and received Jesus Christ as Lord; however, they are fruitless.  Thus, in the Kingdom of God there will be no fruitless Christians, because if nothing else the true believer is to bear the fruit of the Spirit.  Therefore, if God can see no fruit, the root or the stand of that believer must be cut out of the garden or kingdom of God.  Saints of God, the Lord is about reproducing himself in the true believer and because he was a fruit bearer in every aspect we too must bear fruit.  We must display real love, we must display the joy of the Lord, and we must display peace and longsuffering…etc.  The Lord desires to multiply and add to the gifts and talents which he has given each of us not take them away.  In fact, Paul said in (Rom 11:29) “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”  Thus, when God gives us a gift he doesn’t feel as if he has made a mistake and then decides to take it back.  Neither does he take the gift if we don’t use it.  If we don’t use it that is our lost and our lack of productivity, but there will be a price to pay for not using and developing what God has given us.  With that said, God would love for us to produce; even if it’s in small amounts. We have to do something for God because an unproductive tree must be cut out of the garden.
