The Truth Will Always Prevail

December 11, 2008

There is only one way to live if we are going to reside in the kingdom of God, and that’s in truth. A lie or a liar won’t stand in the kingdom of God.  In fact, it’s always best to live our lives in truth because we don’t have to try and cover up for the truth, and the truth always prevails; the truth will always have the last word; the truth will stand the test of time when no lie will.  In fact, (Pro. 12:19) says “The lip of truth shall be established forever: But a lying tongue is but for a moment.”  Thus, a lie might seem like it’s the best solution to a problem, however, when we tell it once we’ll have to tell another lie to cover the first lie.  After a while we don’t know where the first lie began or where the last one ended.  Saints of God, we as believers must walk in truth and we must speak the truth if heaven is to be ours.  Furthermore, when we operate in truth, everybody may not be able to handle the truth, but they will at least respect that we are people of truth and integrity.  Finally, Jesus encourages our heart when he says “If you continue in my word then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (ST. John 8:31-32).”  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

The Will, The Word and The Worship-Part 3

December 10, 2008

The third area in which the enemy will attempt to come against us is in the worship of God, seen through our obedience to God.  The fact is after the Devil makes attempts to tempt Jesus through the will of God and the word of God, his final temptation comes through the worship of God as seen in (Matt 4:1-11).  Satan says to Jesus “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me” (Matt 4:9). Thus, Jesus didn’t fall for the lies and deception of the enemy.  Jesus knew that Satan could give him nothing because the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.  With that understanding, Jesus already knew that all that was on the earth already belonged to him because He is the son of God.  And we too must understand that we don’t have to fall down and worship the Devil to receive provision or even the desires of our heart.  We just need to commit our ways to the Lord and trust him to provide.  Thus, the Devil doesn’t care who or what we worship, just as long as it’s not The Father, The Son or The Holy Spirit.  Anything else is fair game because anything or anyone else you worship becomes an idol, thus becoming the worship of Satan.  One of the main goals of Satan is to get the Christian to worship him.  Furthermore, worshipping God is not only what we do on Sunday morning; in fact, true worship is exemplified in how we live our life from one Sunday to the next. Therefore, saints of God – be on guard in these three areas of your life because every temptation the enemy throws at us will challenge one or more of these areas.  He will watch us to learn where we are weak and will tempt us in any area we leave unguarded.

REPOST – The Will, The Word and The Worship-Part 1

December 10, 2008

The enemy of our soul’s will always attempt to attack Christians in 1 of 3, if not all three of these areas if he can.  The first area in which I will talk about today is the will of God in our lives.  Thus, the will of God in our lives is seen through our dependence on God. And we know that as a Christian the Lord would have us to totally depend upon him in all situations.  However, we have an enemy who lives to challenge whether we really need to depend on God in all situations.  And if he can get us to look to our own resources apart from asking God what He thinks, he is encouraged to continue to challenge us in that area of our life.  The temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4 was an example of that in which the enemy tempted Jesus to depend upon his own power and resources after a 40 day fast.  The scripture said after this fast Jesus was hungry, and the tempter came to him and said “If thou be the son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”  Thus, the Devil was challenging the will of God in the life of Jesus at this point, and had Jesus fallen for this trap he would not be the savior that he is today.  With that said, it behooves all of us to examine our dependence on God verses our dependence on our own thoughts, feelings and resources.  God has given us a wealth of resources, however, how often have we asked the Lord how we should use those resources.  When Jesus was challenged to do things his own way he went to the one and only resource which would give him proper direction and that was the word of God.

The Will, The Word and The Worship-Part 2

December 9, 2008

The second area which the Devil will attempt to attack the believer in is the word of God, which is seen in our confidence in God.  Thus, without a steady diet of the word of God; without consistent personal feedings, our confidence and faith in God will begin to fade.  Thus, the scripture tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17). Therefore, it is important that the word of God becomes a part of who we are in Christ Jesus.  Saints of God, if the devil can get us to start quoting what momma and them said back in the day instead of what God said, we know we are being attacked in our word life.  If he can get us to start building our own doctrine apart from the word of God, and living our life based on what seems to make sense instead of what the word of God says, we know we are being attacked in our word life.  When we find it harder and harder to get to our place of meeting with God (study time) we know there is an attack coming against the word of God in our life.  The fact is if the enemy can dilute or pollute the word of God in our lives then he stands a very good chance of causing our faith to waver and our confidence in God begins to diminish.  Saints of God whatever you do, don’t fill your meeting time with God with other stuff, because if you ever start doing that you will look around and wonder what happened to your relationship with God?
