When A Friend Is Not A Friend

True friends are hard to come by.  In fact, one song writer said “Friends how many of us have them”, not many I dare say.  Saints of God true friends will be with you through the good and the bad times.  True friends won’t say one thing to your face and another behind your back; true friends have our best interest at heart; however, our best interest may not always be what we think is best for us.  Thus, true friends will tell us the truth about ourselves whether we like it or.  In fact saints we all need at least one true friend on earth, and it needs to be someone other that Jesus.  We know that Jesus is a true friend but sometimes we need someone who is touchable, tangible and in our faces.  A true friend will never willingly be out to hurt us.

King David thought he had a true friend as he spoke in (Psalm 55) only to discover that the friend he thought he had was not a friend at all.  Here is what he said about the so called friend “For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.  We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.”  Thus, the friend that he thought he had was someone in the church; someone he fellowshipped with; someone he deemed to have known the Lord which crushed him.  Saints of God true friends are hard to come by even in the church, therefore when you find one thank God for that true friend.

                             God Bless You.
