The third sign we see in the life Nehemiah is teamwork: (Neh. 4:6) says “So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.” Nehemiah knew that if he was going to do anything great for God; if he was going to get anything accomplished in this life that would really make an impact he was going to need some help in getting it done. You see for him this wasn’t only about rebuilding the walls of the city, but it was also about uniting and rebuilding a people, a city and a nation. It was about changing the destinies of people. And we too must understand that if we are going to do something great for God; if we are going to do something no one else in this region has done before; if we are going to do something that most people only sit around and talk about, we are going to need a team. Saints of God, we must understand that Nehemiah wasn’t just trying to have church; he was trying to change a city. And the fact is if we don’t have a mind to work then we will probably never do anything great for God because He needs workers in this vineyard, and He needs people that will agree that we are going in the same direction; “for how can two walk together unless they agree.” It’s something powerful in teamwork “for if one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight.” There is something powerful about teamwork because Moses had Joshua, David had his Mighty Men of Valor, Jesus had the twelve, Adam had eve, and I got Judy (my wife). This teamwork mentality is definitely a model that God will always use because real ministry is bigger than one man/woman.
