A House Divided

(St. Mark 3:26) “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

Jesus was sharing with the scribes and the Pharisees that His works are done by the power of Satan but by the power of God.  He was trying to help the religious leaders understand that they shouldn’t blaspheme the work of the Holy Spirit by contributing those works to the devil because two can’t walk together accept they agree.  And saint’s that’s one of the fundamental problems in our homes today.  Show me a husband and wife that can’t operate in agreement and I will show you a house that is divided.  For those of us who are married and trying to thrive in our marriages, if we are going to operate in the power of God and really have our marriages become a marriage which God can use as an example in the earth we are going to have to agree on the things that matter.  The two must agree that we are in this marriage for life through the ups and downs; we must agree that the gospel of Jesus Christ must be our instruction manual for our marriage.  We must agree to communicate one with another.  There are a lot of things we need to agree upon but at the end of the day if you do find agreement the devil won’t be able to come in and frustrate, separate or discombobulate your marriage; because if the wife is going left and the husband is going right the Devil will eventually put so much space between them that they find it almost impossible to come together again.  Thus, pay attention to division because it causes a home to lack the foundation it needs to retain its footing.
