(St. Mark 5:19 KJV) “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done to thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”
Jesus encouraged the man that was delivered from the devil to go home and share with friends the great things the Lord has done for him. That’s really encouraging because many times we who are saved would rather witness the goodness of God to strangers than we would our friends and family. Why that’s the case is sometimes a mystery. Maybe it’s because we grew up with them and they knew how we were; maybe it’s because we have gotten too busy with our own ministries or lives now, where we don’t have time to talk about the goodness of Jesus to family and friends. Maybe it’s because we don’t believe that we have really changed. We know Jesus wanted him to share with his family as well because he started out with telling him to go home; and if anyone knows we love the Lord it should be those at home. Thus, let me encourage you to start talking to your brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters about the great things God has done for you. Let’s go back and start in our own households because some of the most messed up people are they of our own households, and they too need to know about the great things God has done for us. Let’s not assume they know because we all grew up together; let’s not assume they understand because we told them last year. But go home and tell your friends and family again. In fact, you don’t even have to waste the gas because most of the cell phone companies have hooked you up with friends and family lines, even your favorite five. Thus, all we have to do is pick up the phone now and talk about the goodness of Jesus.
God Bless You
