If we who proclaim ourselves to be Christians are going to be able to get into the presence of God; if we are going to be able to touch the holiness of God and experience Him in a way we never have before, we are going to have to be sanctified. To be sanctified is to be set apart for the service of God; to be sanctified is to have the purity of God in our thoughts, ways and actions. King David put it this way “create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me”. Without this sanctification, without this clean heart and right or righteous spirit within us we won’t be approaching the Holiness of God. In fact, that’s what the Lord told Moses to tell the children of Israel in (Exodus 19:10:11) “Go unto the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, and be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai.” This sanctification process is an ongoing process; it’s not something we have a handle on today and all of a sudden we got this thing. No! It’s a process where we have to be conscience of how we are living our lives daily, and be ready to deal with all sin in our hearts at a moment’s notice, because the fact is that where sin resides God does not unless the sinful heart is in a state of repentance. Hence, if we are planning on approaching the holiness of God we have to live our lives the way God desires, we have to worship Him the way He desires to be worshipped and offer Him a sacrifice upon the altar of God that’s worthy of His fire falling and consuming our sacrifice.
God Bless You
