(Psalms 116:17) “I will offer unto thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.”
There seems to be so much going on in our world today, and if we listen long enough to voices around us we may agree that it all seems to be twisted and turned toward a negative slant. We know that things are worst for many than they have ever been, from low employment to no employment; wars from one side of the world to the other, not to mention that the 24 hour news media seems to be giving us the rest of the bad news. Families are struggling to maintain their marriages, their homes, their children and even a grip on their sanity.
However, for the Christian our refuge, our hiding place is in our attitude toward our God. In the difficult times of life can we remain thankful? Can we press our way and our spirit’s through all the trials, tribulations and situations of life and be ye thankful. There are times when we may not feel very thankful, there may even be times when we feel we don’t have anything to thank the Lord for. The situation may seem so bad that we can’t seem to pry our lips open to give God the thank you He deserves but nevertheless the sacrifice of thanksgiving is in thanking the Lord anyway.
Thanking Him when things are good, as well as when they are bad. Thanking Him whether we are in the valley or the mountain top of our situation. Thanking Him because He is God and if we are ever going to get delivered from the mess we are in it will most certainly come through Him. Thus, we must press our way through all the difficulties of life and tell God “Thank you” anyhow and call upon the name of the Lord for our deliverance.
God Bless You
