A Champions Mentality-Part 4

4 A true champion knows he doesn’t fight alone: (1 Sam 17:45)
“Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with sword and with spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”

David didn’t think he could take on Goliath in his own minute strength because there wouldn’t have been any competition. However, he knew that with God on his side no Goliath, giant or devil in hell could stand against him. He knew that as he was coming in the name of the Lord he could go into battle singing “Victory is mine-Victory is mine-Victory today is mine.

And child of God we don’t have to be afraid of a challenge when the Lord is on our side because he will fight for us as we serve him faithfully. He proved to young David that he had his back; he took Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into a burning fiery furnace only to see them get delivered from the fire so they could proclaim that power belongs to God; he took Daniel into the lion’s den and delivered him from the jaws of the lion so that Daniel could confess that power belongs to God. There is no doubt that God will fight for us but we must show up to the fight; meaning that when adversity comes our way we can’t just decide that we are going to do it our way. We can’t decide that we are going to give up in the midst of the fight. Neither can we decide that we are not going to go through, because we have to face what we have to face. If we want God to show up then we must show up in prayer, in praise and in the word.

God Bless You
