(Isa. 2:3) “And many people shall go and say, come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”.
This text was talking about the coming of the Lord’s Kingdom but I think it’s still relevant for today in that we all need to be consistent in showing up at the house of God if we expect to be taught the Lord’s ways and to be taught how to walk in his paths. This house of God that I’m talking about is the one Christians call their church home, the one where we claim to be members at. It seems today that going to the house of God on Sunday mornings is something that was good for our parent’s and grandparent’s but not as important to us. It seems as if many of us believe that we can be taught the way of the Lord sitting at home on the couch watching the televangelist; it seems as if many believe they can learn to walk in the path of the Lord without ever showing up to the house of the Lord.
The truth is that if we are really going to grow up in the things of God; if we are really going to learn to walk in his ways and follow the path of the Lord properly we can’t do it alone. We must find our way to the house of God consistently to see, hear and feel what God is doing in the lives of others. We must be taught the ways of the Lord through the mouthpiece of God (his leadership) by going to the very place where they will be found on Sunday morning which is the house of God. We won’t get all we need from God through our own thought process of him; neither will we get the encouragement to stand at times on our own. Thus, it behooves all of us who claim Jesus Christ as Lord and savior to get to the house of God the house of Jacob’s God to be taught to walk and talk in the way of the Lord.
God Bless You
