The Lord gives us an outline, a path, even a formula for peace, for believers that will follow. In this two part series I am going to talk about at least eight steps I have found to be helpful in my pursuit of the peace of God according to (Psalm 37:1-7).
• Fret not thyself: Don’t worry about what the world is doing, or even what the devil is doing. What really matters is what God is doing; because if we understand Him and what He is doing, he will reveal to us the tricks and schemes of the world and the devil. Worry is nothing but a form of negative meditation. When we worry we ponder negative thoughts over and over again which can create destruction and torment in our lives.
• Don’t be envious: Envy and jealousy is not of God. As a Christian you don’t have to be envious of something another man/woman has, because “the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1)”. Thus, if the earth is the Lords and all that’s in it, you have access to the things that are needful to sustain life and life more abundantly.
• Trust in the Lord: This is a major point in our walk with God, as it pertains to peace. We have to trust Him, and in trusting God we can’t lean unto our own understanding; we can’t lean toward what we think or what we feel or even what we believe about a situation in our life. The only thing that matters is what God thinks. If we continue to serve God our trust in Him will be put to the test.
• Do good: In other words, do what’s right, do it because it’s right and do it the right way. We will never go wrong operating in righteousness…being in right standing with God and man. Thus, we must treat others’ the way the Lord would treat us (with Love).
God Bless You.
