Walk Circumspectly

(Eph 5:15-16) “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.”

To walk circumspectly is to be cautious, to be careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences. Or to put it in Christian vernacular it means that the Christian should live their lives watching and praying. We should examine our conduct to see if it’s in line with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who walk circumspectly are constantly examining themselves in the mirror of the Holy Spirit. Thus, we not only examine ourselves based on our strengths but we examine our weaknesses as well. And what we should find is that there are a lot more weaknesses than there are strengths when we are looking at our lives in the mirror of the Holy Spirit instead of looking at our lives in the mirror of other people.

Those who walk circumspectly know the only real way to examine themselves truthfully is through the eyes of the Holy Spirit and that type of self examination will always keep us humble, on our knees and pressing toward the mark of the high calling of God for our lives. To walk circumspectly is to live everyday like it could be our last because we never really know when God is going to call us home. Thus, we live our lives as if today could be that day; we live our lives with an eye on heaven even though we live on earth. Hence, we make every attempt to redeem the time because we know the days are short and very evil.

God Bless You
