(2 Cor. 5:20), says “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God”.
An ambassador: is a political appointee whose job is to represent and speak for his/her government before the rulers of other countries. As the word “ambassador” is defined, that is our role as Christians. We have been charged with representing and speaking for the kingdom of heaven on earth. An ambassador never shares his own point of view, he only shares the point of view of the government for which he represents, and as Christians we represent the Kingdom of God. In fact, (St. Luke 17:21) says “Neither shall they say lo here, or lo there, for behold, the kingdom of God is within you”. We have been charged by the God the Father, to represent Jesus Christ, and say only what He said and do only what He would do. That’s why as an ambassador for Christ, it is important to know the rules and regulations of the Kingdom for which we represent. Those rules are found in the bible. Thus, we must know the rules to be an effective ambassador if we are going to change the kingdom of earth, into the kingdom of heaven. Furthermore, the kingdom of earth will only become the kingdom of heaven when that which we speak from the word of God, is lived out in the earth. Remember, the Apostle Peter said we were “strangers and pilgrims on this earth”; and David said in (Psalms 119:19) “that he was a stranger on the earth”. This is not our home if we are Christians; we are citizens of heaven first. Therefore, we should represent the Lord as such.
God Bless You.
