(Rev.3:5) “To them that overcome, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
What an honor it would be to have Jesus receive us into heaven and confess our name before the Father and the angels of heaven. However, this honor only belongs to those that are over-comers. Saints of God there won’t be anyone in heaven who hadn’t had to overcome something in their lives if they lived for any amount of time. In fact, for the majority of us overcoming something in our lives is a prerequisite of heaven becoming ours. Thus, true over-comers have to have some circumstances, they have to have some issues; some of us may even know it as trouble. If Jesus had to overcome we have to as well. Some may ask what did Jesus have to overcome. He had to overcome the death on the cross. It couldn’t be easy for him to die on the cross! It couldn’t be easy to take on the pain and suffering He had to endure for us on the cross! In fact, we know this because as his hour to die drew near he prayed for strength to endure the cross when He said “Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt (St. Mark 14:36)”. Therefore, if He had to overcome we must as well. We all have to overcome that three letter word in our lives, which carries a lot of weight called sin. Whatever yours is we have to fight the urge to give in to it daily. We have to be willing to have a winners attitude when it comes to sin. We have to be willing to overcome what we say, think and do that’s not of the righteousness of God, so one day we might hear the Lord confess our name before all in heaven.
God Bless You
