There is so much going on in the life of the believer today that sometimes we can get overwhelmed by all that’s happening. We have things going on at our jobs, we have things going on in our homes and if you are leader in the body of Christ there are multiple challenges to deal with in the Church as well. Thus, there are times where we feel as if we are overwhelmed, where we feel as if we are being overpowered by superior forces, and in fact, sometimes we are. But the Psalmist said “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2). Thus, when those feelings of being overwhelmed come we must go to the rock which is Jesus Christ our Lord.
We must cry out to him to help us to rise above those feelings of being overwhelmed because if anyone is going to help us to breakthrough it will be Jesus. We who are leaders must get a breakthrough because there are so many others depending on us to be there for them. Therefore, our cry unto the Lord must be a cry of longing for him, it must be a cry of desperation for him to come in and heal the feelings and emotions of being overwhelmed. David’s cry unto the Lord wasn’t a five minute drive by prayer that released his heart of seemingly being overpowered by life. It was a cry of desperation that it feels like I am being overpowered by something I hadn’t faced before and I have a desperate need God for you to heal, deliver and set me free from the spirit of being overwhelmed. Thus, when we are over whelmed let us go to the rock immediately.
God Bless You
