According to (2nd Chr 20:18) the seventh thing Jehoshaphat did was he encouraged the people to worship God. For God desires such worship. In fact, (St. John 4:24) says “That God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth”; thus, He is looking for true worshippers. This word worship come from the old English word which means “Worthship”. So when we worship God we are telling him that He is worthy of our devotion, our adoration and our praise regardless of where we are in our lives. It doesn’t matter what our status is or what our economic status is or our title in the church or the lack thereof, He is simply worthy of our praise.
The next example Jehoshaphat gives us in (2nd Chr 20:20) is we must believe God. Faith and stability is important to our victory in Christ Jesus. Because without faith it’s impossible to please God, and an unstable person will not receive anything from God because unstableness…up today and down tomorrow, having a belief in God one moment but the next you are not sure if you do; always being caught between two opinions; that type of thinking doesn’t exemplify a consistent belief in God. (St. Mark 11:22) speaks it plainly, “Have faith in God” , and those who have this faith, those who believe God will receive from him what is exactly needed when they don’t know what to do.
