The Holy Spirit-Part 5

The question has been ask, should I ask the Lord to fill me with his Spirit daily? Yes. The scripture declares in (Eph. 5:18)”And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit: “That but be filled” in the KJV is also understood to be (continually filled.) If his mercies are new every morning, we need a new filling of his Spirit daily. In fact, Jesus declared in what I call the disciple’s prayer in (Matt 6:11) “Give us this day our daily bread”. Thus, if we are exhorted by the Lord to digest a good portion of his word daily, it would behoove us all to ask for more of his Spirit daily because you can’t separate the one from the other, and we need them both to live holy. We need them both to live above the flesh, the devil and the world. We need them both in order to get the victory over sin and death.

If we are to be under the influence of anything let it be the Spirit of God and not the Spirit of drunkenness. If we are to be filled with anything let it be with the Holy Spirit and not those other spirits that hang out with drunkenness. If we just have to have our inner thirst refreshed let it be with the Spirit that brings forth everlasting life. For Jesus said in (St. John 4:14) “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

God Bless You
