In the 29th book of Psalms it speaks in great detail about the voice of the Lord. It talks about the voice of the Lord being powerful; the voice of the Lord being full of majesty, and the voice of the Lord breaking cedars…etc. We know when the Lord speaks things begin to happen immediately. For he spoke to the wind and the sea and said “Peace be still” and the elements immediately fell inline. At the genesis of time He said let there be light and immediately light obeyed. It’s amazing that the elements and all forms of life obey when God speaks but man in all his wisdom has a hard time recognizing the voice of the Lord. It’s expected that the unsaved won’t obey when God speaks but the saved, the born again believer should obey when the Lord speaks. In fact, (St. John 10:4 KJV) says “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. Thus, it is expected that those who are sheep of the chief shepherd Jesus Christ are to obey when he speaks.
However, we must know his voice. We come to recognize his voice in many ways. One of those ways is through the word of God which is found in the holy bible. Another way we come to know his voice is through the leaders that God has placed over us if you are a part of a bible believing, bible teaching ministry. Those leaders would be those that are a part of the five-fold ministry, such as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. It is imperative that we who call ourselves Christians come to know his voice and obey when he speaks, whether it is the read word of the Gospel or whether it is taught or preached on Sunday morning. Hence, the difference between those who will make it in and those who won’t will be those who will hear his voice and after hearing his voice makes a decision to obey completely.
God Bless You
