(Proverbs 19:21) says “There are many devices in a man’s heart: nevertheless, the counsel of the Lord that shall stand.
There are many devices, plans and schemes in a man’s heart and no matter how this world turns or how old and restless we become the fact is that in the days of our lives the only thing that will stand through all the pain, adversity and uncertainty we face is the counsel of the Lord. The counsel of the Lord doesn’t change with the times, the seasons or the ages because it’s timeless. The counsel of the Lord has been tested by every generation of man in every age and has been found to be the solution to all of man’s ills. The counsel of the Lord will be good for today, tomorrow and the months and years to come because there is nothing that has happened, is happening or will happen that his word is not absolutely prepared for.
With that in mind, we who know our God should hold on to his counsel which is found in the word of God in good times and in bad, whether on the mountain top or in the valley of our lives and on sunny and rainy days of our lives; because we know if we keep holding on to the Jesus found in the scriptures a brighter day is coming. We know that though weeping may endure for a night we know that our morning time is right around the corner and morning eventually brings joy. Thus, with all the fear mongering and hopelessness that seems to be splattered over the airwaves and throughout the media let us who know our God retain the counsel of the Lord in our hearts. It’s not to say difficult times won’t come our way because eventually they will, however, if the counsel of the Lord is your guide you have a better chance of gaining some growth and victory as you come through adversity.
God Bless You
