Christians have a tendency to allow their comfort zone to keep them from doing great things for God. We often don’t want to leave the place of familiar; we often don’t want to move out to a place where the builder and maker is God. We would rather stay in the land of comfort in our spiritual recliner than to pursue destiny. Fear is also a spirit that keeps us from pursuing our God given dreams. Fear is a natural response when we are stepping out of a place that we have built our whole life around (comfort) to an unknown place.
However, fear is not necessarily a bad thing because without fear there would be no courage. Thus, courage is the strength to go forward in the midst of fear. Therefore, child of God if we are going to fulfill those God given dreams, we are going to have to move beyond fear to faith and courage. People like Abraham, Moses and Joshua are prime examples for us who pushed past the fear of moving out of the place of comfort to a place of God.
In fact, Abraham was told to leave family and the familiar behind and go and “Look for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God” (Heb 11:10). We know that those moves of faith didn’t come without challenge, conflict and maybe even frustration at times. However, the end result was seeing their God given dreams come to past, and at the end of the day that’s something we all should be striving for.
God Bless You
