(Ex 9:5) says “And the Lord shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all the children of Israel.”
It’s truly good to have the favor of God upon our lives. Israel had such favor as well. As the leaders of Israel were battling with the God of Egypt (Pharaoh) for their freedom, God had demanded through Moses that Pharaoh let the children of Israel go, but Pharaoh continually refused.
Therefore, God began to show this king that he truly favored the Israelite’s when he told him if you don’t let my people go “on tomorrow I will begin to kill the cattle of Egypt, but the cattle of Israel will live.” Thus, the Israelite’s were shown favor by the hand of God. Those of us who are believers in Christ Jesus are shown great favor as well. We know this to be true because (Psalm 91:7) tells us “A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee;” that certainly sounds like favor to me.
In fact, have you ever wondered why something happened to someone else, but it didn’t happen to you. For example…a storm comes through your neighborhood and destroys your neighbor’s property and leaves yours untouched; that’s favor. There are various examples of favor that God has shown each of us at one time or the other where we all have to say “that was nothing but God”.
Child of God even if we look at our lives today we have to confess that things aren’t as bad as they could be. Though the price of everything is going up, God’s people are still up; though the enemy of our souls would love to destroy us, he can’t do what he would like because we serve an all powerful God. If we take stock of our lives again we will find that the Lord has shown us the favor of Israel, if not more as a New Testament believer because he gave us Jesus.
God Bless You
