Suffering For Christ

The believers who are suffering for Christ are few and far between in America. There are not many who can truly say they are being persecuted for Christ sake. Most Christians are suffering because of the sin and bad decisions we have made, not what we are doing for Christ. Is that to say we can never get to that point; absolutely not! However, the Christians who are being persecuted for Jesus sake are those who have gotten beyond worrying about what they want, or how they feel and what other’s think. The Christians who are suffering for Christ already understand that life doesn’t revolve around them and in fact is not about them at all. The Christians who are suffering for Christ have moved from carnal thinking and carnal ways into spiritual thinking and spiritual ways. The scriptures tell us that it is an honor to suffer for Christ; however, not many really desire to do that. Ask the average Christian to turnover their plate and fast for three days on behalf of Christ and watch their response. They will look at you as if you are speaking in an unknown tongue, but we know fasting is of God. The Apostle Peter sums it up beautifully when talking about suffering for Christ; he says “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf (1 Pt. 4:16).”

God Bless You
