(Matt 5:44) “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
This is the real test of a Christian. Are we able to love our enemies? Is there enough God in us to love those that hate us? Is there enough God in us to love those who would persecute and back-stab us? Are we willing to love man-kind in spite of our race, cultures, differences and disagreements?
Furthermore, this same enemy we have been called to love must also be blessed from our lips; meaning that we are suppose to speak well of our enemies; we are suppose to seek positive and good things to say about those who tend to rub us the wrong way.
Finally, we as Christians are charged to do good and pray for our enemies despite the fact that they hate us and often persecute us. Thus, we must always seek ways to treat our enemies as the Lord would treat them; seeing the good in all of them. This is the real litmus test of a Christian. Can we love in spite of the situation? Child of God at the end of the day what will really matter is the love in your heart for the Lord and for your fellowman; and how you treat your fellowman will say a lot about your love for God.
God Bless You
