The Wisdom Of God

June 2, 2011

Life is so short; it’s so fragile that we have to take full advantage of everyday God gives us. Each day was so important to Moses that he prayed a prayer which said “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). Thus, as Christians we don’t have any days to waste on foolish living; we don’t have any days to waste messing around with sin. Our priority should be to seek the wisdom of God for our lives that we may be able to live this life skillfully and in victory.

Child of God, we must all understand that wisdom is not what you know, but it is the application of what you know. If you are able to take the word of God and apply it to your life in such a way that it brings victory, understanding and an outcome which brings pleasure to the heart of God, then you are operating in the wisdom of God.

Hence, the Christian must have an attitude of bringing the wisdom of God into every part of their lives from our marriages- to the way we interact with our kids, even to the way we handle our finances. Everyday should be a day of pursuing the wisdom of God, because (Pro 4:7) says “Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Control Yourself

June 1, 2011

As Christians we must learn how to control ourselves. We must learn how to control our actions, thought life and certainly our tongues. Show me a Christian without temperance (self control) and I will show you a person who opens himself/herself up to all types of demonic influence which will attack their lives. In fact, (Pro 25:28) says “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.” Hence, if your spirit is not under the influence of the Holy Spirit daily, then as a confessed born again believer, you are subject to say or do anything.

Without the Holy Spirit ruling over your spirit, your spirit is left unprotected, vulnerable and open to the things of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Let us be sure that everyday we live, we have submitted our will and our spirit to the will of the Holy Spirit so we don’t get caught up in ungodly situations. The Holy Spirit desires to lead and guide our spirit into all truth. In fact, one of the main reasons you even have a spirit is so you can reach out and connect with God: For God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God Bless You
