One of the goals of every Christian should be to grow in Christ. We should be striving for full maturity in Christ Jesus. To become mature is to be fully developed; to bring to maturity or completion, or to become due. The Apostle Paul could certainly tell us about pressing towards maturity in Christ Jesus for he said in (Phil 3:12) “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”
Thus, the Apostle Paul was letting us know that he may not have made it to full maturity as of yet; he may not have made it to perfection at the present. However, he was striving for it, he was chasing after full maturity in Christ Jesus.
He wasn’t going to allow the world, the devil, the flesh, family, friends or even his own mind keep him from reaching full maturity in Christ Jesus; neither was he going to allow the things which had happened in his past to keep him down. Child of God that’s the attitude we must have; every-time we read our bibles, every-time we pray, and every-time we obey what God’s word says we are pressing toward full maturity in Christ Jesus.
Saints of God we know we are maturing when we are changing. Hence, there must be a change that is noticeable to heaven, hell and even among people on the earth. The fact is we may not have gotten there yet, but don’t give up; don’t stop trying to love more, don’t stop trying to give more of your time-efforts-and resources to the work of the Lord. Let us not be so quick to give up on others in their fight for salvation, and for God’s sake don’t give up on your own quest for full development in Christ Jesus. Because regardless of what the world tells us full development is possible.
God Bless You
