(Psalms 119:89) “Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
For the word of God to be settled in heaven there must be agreement by The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit that the word of God is so, and no matter what happens the word of God will always stand. As a result of that agreement, heaven and earth can pass away, but the word of God will always be. And for the Christian that’s good news; the good news being that the word will never change.
We won’t ever have to worry about God changing his mind as it pertains to his word. We won’t ever have to worry about whether God made a mistake when it came to the word which he spoke in the scriptures. In fact, this word is timeless, eternal and ageless. Thus, we can always depend upon the word of God to be the same yesterday, today and forever.
The word will not change because our culture changes; it won’t change because man decided to change; it won’t change because we have new political parties in government. Our understanding of the word may change as we grow up in Christ; the Lord may give us greater illumination of the word as we mature in Christ; however, the word of God will always be what the Lord meant for it to be from the time he spoke it into existence. Therefore saints, no matter what situation you find yourself in the word of God is stable, dependable and timeless. Thus, it is sound doctrine for us who have a relationship with the Lord.
God Bless You
