(Psalms 83:18) “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.”
The circumstances, situations and trials of life can sometimes cause us to forget (if only for a moment) that Jesus is Lord. And it’s good to have friends, family and the word of God to remind us in the midst of situations that Jesus alone is Lord. The psalmist takes the time to remind us that Jesus is Lord. We must remind ourselves in the midst of pain and disappointment that He is Lord; in the midst of discouragement He is Lord; in the midst of frustration He is Lord.
When the money has run out and the bills are way past due we must remember that He is Lord. When the marriage is on the brink of divorce and the home seems to be in total chaos we must remember that Jesus is Lord. Life has a way of challenging us; life has a way of humbling us and bringing us to our knees; life has a way of causing us to really examine who we are, where we stand and what we believe.
However, through it all, if we would only recognize that Jesus is Lord over all the earth, this same Jesus has a way of leading us through the fires, challenges and circumstances of life. Thus at the end of the day, we are all going to trust in someone, whether it’s ourselves, a friend, a love one or Jehovah himself to bring us out of various situations. Let me encourage you to choose the Lord because men have a propensity to fail but the Lord never does and never will.
God Bless You
