As a people we all love to see someone chase perfection. Many of us were in awe of the New England Patriots as they chased perfection a few years ago, only to come up short (Go Giants). Many are in awe this year of the Green Bay Packers chase of perfection, however, the outcome is yet to be told. We love perfection and so does Christ because He is perfect and he challenges us to be. We have heard it said that as long as we are in this body we will never be perfect; however, it depends on how we define perfection.
Webster defines perfect as being entirely without fault or defect, that’s not us. It’s defined as flawless, that’s not us. However, there is one that comes close when it simply says we are (Complete). And for the Christian we are complete in Christ Jesus.
When we find ourselves complete in Christ Jesus then perfection is what we strive for, thus we may not be sinless but sin living in our daily lives becomes less and less of a problem because we don’t practice it and we think about our actions before we do them, and we think about how our words may affect someone before we speak them. King David certainly thought he could be perfect when he said “I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
God Bless You
