Often times when we think of God we tend to think of Him as a loving God, a just God or a merciful God, and He is all of those things. However, our God is a fighter as well, to the degree that (Ex. 15:3) says “The Lord is a man of war: The Lord is his name”. Thus, if God is a man of war and we have this man of war living on the inside of us, we too should have a fighting or warlike mentality. I’m not talking about using the weapons of man in order to display this fighting mentality, but I’m talking about using those spiritual weapons of fasting, prayer, praise and worship, and obedience to God’s word to display this fighting mentality.
This fighting spirit causes us not to be so quick to throw in the towel or quit when things don’t go the way we planned. This fighting spirit causes us not to run and hide when things get tough but having done all we stand in the face of adversity on the promises of God that victory is yet assured whether it looks like it or not.
This fighting spirit in us is a yes and amen spirit when the Devil is constantly trying to tell us no; no you can’t, no you want, no you will never be, but that fighting spirit in us is saying yes through the power of the Holy Spirit that you can and you will be all that I’ve said you can be because at the end of the day “greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.”
God Bless You
