In (Ezekiel 44:9-31) the prophet talks to us about how the priest should approach God. How they should enter into His presence; how they should dress, even down to what their hair looks like. That might seem trivial to some but what that should say to the New Testament believer is that we too must pay attention as to how we approach God.
We should pay attention as to what our heart looks like when we approach God. Thus, we can’t come to God with a heart full of pride, hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness…etc, believing that God is going to hear and answer our prayer, for (St. John 9:31 KJV) says “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”Therefore, if we desire that God would hear us and move on our behalf we must come to God with a heart of repentance, humility, and worship.
Finally, we should also pay attention to how we approach God when we come together in our worship services. We should not dress to the point where we are showing all of our curves… every lump and bump. Ladies if you desire to dress that way, save that for your husband at home.
Furthermore, men should be mindful of how they dress as well, because women come to Church with images in their own mind, and often it has nothing to do with God. As Christians, we have to put the people of God in a position to worship God when we come together, not the mini skirt that the sister has on or the muscle shirt that the brother is wearing.
