God Is Thinking Of Us

July 27, 2012

The Lord has us on his mind; with all the things that are going on in our world, with all the things the people of God are going through in this world, it’s good to know that the Lord takes time out to think of us. In fact, David tells us the Lord is thinking about us when he ask the question “What is man that thou art mindful of him; and the son of man that thou visitest him”? (Psalms 8:4). You see, God pays close attention to our needs and He will visit with us if we invite Him to come in.

The Lord knows and understands our needs, and he hasn’t forgotten about us. Sometimes it can seem that God is nowhere to be found, especially when we find ourselves in difficult situations; however, he is there. In fact, his word says “Call out unto me and I will answer thee show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not (Jer. 33:3).” What a God we serve!

Finally, God continues to reveal to us that he is thinking about us when He tells Jeremiah “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected end.” God has thought about us so much that He’s already promised believers peace, and a level of expectation in this life and beyond this life which believers haven’t even expected for themselves. What God is thinking when He thinks of His children is life and life more abundantly, regardless of the economic climate. Our God is not moved by the stock market, neither is he surprised that America is in a financial crisis. As believers our job is to continue to trust, obey and be good stewards over what he has given us.

Watch How You Sow

July 26, 2012

(Gal 6:8) “For he that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

In this life everything we say, do or even think is sown (or deposited) in one of two places. It’s either sown to the Spirit or to the flesh; there is never any in between. Thus, when we operate in bitterness, hatred, gossip, unforgiveness…etc, we are actually sowing into the flesh, and building up an account that’s credited to hell.

Conversely, if we operate in the things of God such as love, joy, peace, gentleness…etc, we are sowing to the Spirit and building up an account for heaven. The fact is, if we (as Christians) looked at everything we do as being credited to heaven or hell we might examine our lives more extensively. We may even attempt to guard our tongue, thoughts and heart a little better. As Christians we should all want our lives to be credited to the Spirit of God so that life everlasting will be ours.

However, we have to make a concentrated effort in order to make this happen. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I don’t want to spend Sunday after Sunday in Church services and when my time on earth is over I die and go to hell. Therefore, in order to have the things which we say, do and think sown to the Spirit we must do as King David said “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14).”

Don’t Believe The Lie

July 24, 2012

(St. John 8:44 KJV) “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

One of the greatest weapons that Satan uses against us is the lie. If he can get us to believe the lie we have essentially given him the power to rule over us. And because we are generally pessimistic by nature it is sometimes easier to believe the lie. However, as Christians if we are going to live victorious lives we must stop believing the lies of the enemy and start believing the word of God.

Jesus said he (Satan) was a lie and the father of lies. Hence, if the devil can get us to believe that the word of God is not real; if he can get us to believe we will never amount to anything; if he can get us to believe that we are not the salt of the earth or the light of the world then we have given Satan power and authority in our lives. Child of God, stop operating in the lies of Satan and live in the truth of God’s word because real power and authority comes from God and you will never know power and authority until you begin to deal with the truth.

(St. John 8:31-32) “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” If we desire to come out of bondage then we must operate in truth; if we want to live a victorious life we must begin to operate in truth, and the truth must begin and end with the word of God. Child of God, if we take the lies and deception out of our lives we take the power which the enemy has over us away.

Launch Out Into The Deep-Part 2

July 19, 2012

(St. Luke 5:4) “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”

Therefore saints, launch out into the deep and take chance. Simon Peter and the other disciples would have never realized their true catch; they would have never realized the gift to truly catch men if they had not launched out into the deep to bring in their greatest catch of fish of all time. What is it that God has been telling you to do for years in order to maximize your potential but you keep putting it off! What is it that God has told you to do in order to realize your dream but you keep telling yourself that you are not good enough or you are not wise enough, or you are not smart enough or you don’t have the necessary credentials to see the dream realized? If God said it he has and will make a way to see it come to past.

Some of us can’t see our potential maximized because we are like Simon and the other disciples, we have toiled all night. In other words, we have tried to do this thing on our own, and under our own power and strength and God is saying stop trying to do this under your own strength because I have given you a word and at the word of God move. Because it’s only at his word that things begin to happen. You see when Peter, James and John had come to the end of their strength, when they had got tired of their own labor, when they figured out that they didn’t know the fishing game as well as the one who created the fish of the sea, they moved at his word and some things began to happen. And usually good things happen when we move according to God’s word.

Launch Out Into The Deep –Pt 1

July 17, 2012

(St. Luke 5:4) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

If we are going to serve God, we are going to have to learn to walk by faith; we are going to have to learn to trust God even when it seems to make no sense, in fact, especially when it make no sense because God doesn’t flow by our physical senses he flows by the Spirit of God. Thus, if we are going to serve God for real, we are going to eventually have to launch out into the deep.

We are going to have to allow our faith in God to take us to a place where we are uncomfortable. We are going to have to go where it’s a little scary sometimes. We are going to have to go where not many have gone before if we really want to fulfill our destiny in Christ Jesus. For it is in the deep where we maximize our potential; it is in the deep where we grow up in the things of God. It’s in the deep where dreams are realized and fulfilled. And even though launching out into the deep is a little scary and often uncomfortable, I would rather be in the deep with God than sitting on the shoreline with the devil never really coming to know who I am.

Restoration Of Joy

July 12, 2012

(Psalms 51:12) “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit’.

We know that the enemy of our soul is a thief. We know that he comes to steal kill and destroy; and one of the things that he purposely goes after in our lives is our joy in the Lord. He will use anything or anyone to take our joy away. King David found himself without joy behind his own sin and rightfully so, but the absence of joy doesn’t always manifest itself because of sin or something we done.

Sometimes we find ourselves lacking the joy of the Lord simply because of the daily grind of life. Or we are so busy doing for everyone else that we forgot to check in with God concerning ourselves and what’s going on inside of us. However, if we are going to be who God said we could be; if we are really going to be a blessing to others, we are going to have to have the joy of the Lord. Saints of God, nobody wants to be around negativity, pessimism, and misery, at least not too long anyway.

Thus, we must learn to serve God with a smile. We must attempt to reach back and pull up that joy we had when we first got saved. In fact, it is a must because the joy of the Lord is our strength, and without strength how do we get anything done for God. Therefore, it is important that we check our Jesus joy meter from time to time to see where we are, because if you are not checking in with God to see about your joy don’t be surprised if the devil has stolen it.

Rejoicing In The Lord

July 10, 2012

(Psalm 118:24) “This is the day which the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Rejoicing in the Lord on a continual basis is not always easy. It doesn’t matter who you are, what your title in the church is or how long you have been saved, some days of rejoicing in the Lord are better than others. However, if we make up in our minds that the above scripture is going to be our daily confession it has a tendency to set our day in order. To make this confession early in our day sends out a proclamation to the ears of God, Satan and our own minds that no matter what we face today we plan to face with the joy of the Lord.

Thus, no matter what happens on our jobs we will rejoice and be glad in the Lord; no matter what’s happening with our finances we will rejoice and be glad in the Lord; no matter what happens between ourselves and a family member ultimately the goal is to come out of the situation rejoicing in the Lord. This rejoicing is important because the joy of the Lord is our strength and without the strength of the Lord it’s hard to stand and deal with the curve balls that life will throw at us through various circumstances and situations.

The fact is saints’ everyday on this side of the dirt is a good day if we have our life, health and strength. Thus, if you can inhale and exhale without the assistance of a life respirator it’s a day to rejoice; if you can open your mouth and tell God thank you it’s a day to rejoice; if you can get yourself up out of your bed, dress yourself and drive yourself to a place of employment it’s a day to rejoice. Child of God start looking at what you already have instead of what you don’t and the joy of the Lord will come alive in you.
