(Psalms 138:8 KJV) “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hand”.
Those of us who are in Christ, who have received him as Lord and savior know that we are a work in progress. We understand that we have not arrived and everyday there is an opportunity to be changed even more into the image of Jesus Christ. In fact, the only place that Christians should be concerned with arriving at is heaven when we hope to hear him say one day “well done thy good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord”. Thus, if we are to really make it to heaven there is some unfinished business that God still needs to attend to in our lives; there is still some perfecting that must take place in our lives.
Maybe some of that unfinished business is allowing God to show us how to be more compassionate or loving. Maybe we need to allow God to show us how to be more forgiving and patient with people. Maybe we need to get some things from our past worked out with those that have hurt us in some way so that we can begin to really walk in our future.
Whatever our situation is, and wherever we find ourselves the good news is if we will allow God to finish perfecting us; if we will allow him to finish shaping, making and molding us; if we will allow him to finish the business that he started in us He will finish the work and maybe those of us who really allow him to have his way in our lives might actually get to heaven one day.
God Bless You
