To become overwhelmed is to be upset. It means to be overcome by superior force or numbers; it is to be overpowered in thought or feeling. And the fact is that life can cause us to be overwhelmed sometimes. Family, friends, work ministry and financial situations can cause things to get a little out of control sometimes. However, when we find ourselves overwhelmed there is an answer to getting the victory and his name is Jesus. When King David found himself in such a state he said “From the ends of the earth will I cry unto thee when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to a rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2)”. The fact is the Lord has a way of causing us to rise above our circumstances. He has a way of causing us to see being overwhelmed as a way to get closer to him. He has a way of causing us to see being overwhelmed from another point of view, and that’s his point of view. The truth is that I will never say that we won’t be overwhelmed; however, there is a God that tells us “there is nothing too hard for him”. Thus, if you are overwhelmed today, cry out to the Lord in prayer; open your mouth and give him praise; give your feelings and emotions of being overwhelmed back to him. Remember (1 Peter 5:7) says “Casting all your cares upon him for he cares for you”. The Lord really does care for you, and He cares if you are overwhelmed.
God Bless You
