The Name Of Jesus

(Act 5:28) “Did not we straightly command you that you should not teach in this name; and behold ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

This is what the high priest said unto Peter during his day. They didn’t care what Peter and the other apostles talked about as long as they didn’t talk about this man name Jesus. And that’s just how it is in many of our work places; they don’t care what you talk about just as long as you don’t talk about Jesus. But the fact is, if you can talk about sin around me I ought to be able to talk about Jesus. If people can lie and curse in their workplace then Christians ought to be able to talk about Jesus in the workplace. Listen we are not called to go to our jobs to preach but if the job will allow employees to talk about all types of junk then Jesus shouldn’t be off limits. Even in the world around us everything seems to be fair game to discuss but Jesus is a dicey subject. However, because we know that there is power in the name of Jesus, there is healing and deliverance in the name of Jesus; there is salvation and real change we can believe in the name of Jesus we must speak, teach and even preach in the name of Jesus. We can’t allow the world, church folk, or religious leaders keep real Christians from speaking in the name of Jesus. We must understand even church folk (those who have a form of godliness but deny the real power; those who have been around church and know all the right cliché) will try to hinder our work for Jesus. But those who know their God will stand up and be heard at the right time in the right place and in the right way.

God Bless You
