Mind of Christ 5

January 29, 2013

Finally, if we are to have the mind of Christ we must obey. In (Phil 2:8) Jesus “became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Jesus obeyed all the way to, and all the way through the cross. Thus, for the Christian, obedience is not optional it’s a must. We can’t simply obey when we fill like it or when it’s convenient for us or seek to obey the parts of the bible we think we can live up to. We must look to obey every time and when we don’t God has given us a way to make peace with him through repentance, however obedience is the expectation for one who would have the mind of Christ.

The Mind Of Christ-4

January 25, 2013

The fourth thing we must do if we are to have the mind of Christ is we must learn to be humble. I say learn because true humility doesn’t come naturally, it is supernatural. To be humble is to have a freedom from arrogance that flows out of recognition that all we have and that all we are comes from God. When we have this mentality it keeps us looking to God as our source and never ever believing that somehow we are self made and it’s all about us. There is a true power of God in humility because humble people seem to focus more on God and others than themselves; and isn’t that just like Jesus. When He came to earth he focused on the Father and humanity, rarely did he speak of himself. (Ref. Phil: 2:5)

The Mind of Christ-3

January 22, 2013

The third thing a Christian should commit to in order to have the mind of Christ is they must be willing to serve. Christ came in the form of a servant, in fact, he said in his word that “he came not to be ministered unto but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many” (St. Mark 10:45). Thus, we must have a servants mentality. We must be willing to serve others instead of looking to be served. Serving others, doing for others has a way of touching us in our inner man and causing us to be forever grateful for the things The Lord has done for us.

Let This Mind Be In You-1

January 14, 2013

(Phil 2:5) says “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

As a Christian this is the mind we must have, the mind of Christ. However, if there is to be any real change, if there is to be a true conversion, it must start with a change of mind. In fact, that’s really the definition of repentance-a change of mind. Thus, there must be a new way of thinking if we are to have the mind of Christ. When our mind becomes made up that we are not going to continue to live the way we’ve been living or do the things we’ve been doing the mind conversion begins to effect the heart thereby bringing a change in lifestyle. It is the first step in a process of Kingdom living.

Living Everyday Like It’s Our Last

January 9, 2013

Life in and of itself is short and because of that we need to live everyday like it’s our last. That means we should treat people the way we desire to be treated, or better yet for the Christian we should treat people the way God would treat them which means we should treat everyone with love and respect. Saints of God because we don’t know when God is going to call us home or when He is going to comeback it’s important that we examine our relationship with God on a daily basis. However, it’s important that we examine our relationship not based on what we think but based on what God thinks and says in His word. Hence, we need to be in a bible believing, bible teaching ministry so we can get the right understanding of how to live this Christian life. Is the time drawing nigh, sure it is, because every day we live is a day closer to that meeting day with our maker.

God Test Everything He Creates

January 4, 2013

(Genesis 22:1) says “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.”

The word “tempt” in the text is not God trying to incite Abraham to sin, but it was to test or to prove him. It was an opportunity for his faith to be developed and put to the test; and Abraham certainly passed the test (Ref. Gen 22). Thus, God test everything he creates. If you claim to be a Christian, you too will be tested to see if you are real, you too will be tested to see if your faith will stand up under the microscope of pressure. You won’t come to God’s heaven without passing multiple tests’ of faith because just like the Ford commercial used to say “The quality goes in before the name goes on”. We can all call ourselves what we want to, but the only thing that will matter is what Jesus believes you to be and that won’t come without the test.

Obedience Leads To Success In The Kingdom

January 3, 2013

(Genesis 6:22) says “Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”

For the Christian to experience success God’s way, it’s incumbent upon them to obey. In the above scripture Noah did all that God commanded (in building the ark-Ref. Genesis) and his obedience brought about salvation for his whole household. Now had he not obeyed God it would have brought certain death as it did the rest of the nation. Thus, if success is what we desire (success that is long lasting, success that man didn’t give, so man can’t take it away) then we are to obey all that God commands because ninety-nine and a half won’t do.
