The God whom we serve is a good God, a forgiving God and a merciful God. And even though He is all of that many people still make the decision not to serve him. We know He is all of that because (Psalm 86:5) says “For thou Lord art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” Thus, God is not like man in that if you do something to man or cross man in a way that displeases him, he tends to hold that against you for years, if not forever. Man doesn’t understand that to live his life in un-forgiveness is really binding him up instead of the one who he believes created the offence. However, God is ready to forgive those who call upon him; He is ready to cast our wrong doing into the sea of forgetfulness when we come to him with a repentant heart. The question for the believer is: Are we prepared to forgive at the level that God requires us too?
